Archies First History lesson

Yesterday we left the wonderful Oliviers in Cape town to travel on outside the city, but first a drive around the beautiful chapmans peak
the beautiful long beach, I think!?!
Then a boat ride out the Robben island (Robben is dutch for Seal didn't ya know).
Another picture for Archie to recreate when he's older.

Where not only does it have the best view of Table mountain, but is also where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for 20 years out of a 27 year prison sentence. To hear and see the conditions in which he was kept, but still came out of there to lead Africa peacefully into a post apartheid era, was inspiring and humbling.
The mans capacity to forgive is immense.

Then it was off to Grabouw to stay with the Muirs. On the way we were privileged to be audience to the beautiful light-show preformed by the sunset. Believe me the pictures below do not do it justice.

To come tomorrow: A trip to see what the Muirs have been up two since we last saw them 2 years ago!!
